In November 2022, the New York State Education Department issued a memo prohibiting school mascots, athletic team names and logos from referencing or depicting Indigenous/Native Americans. Christina Pizzino-Catalano and Michael Sogoian receive 2023 Murray Award for Excellence in Education

The Niskayuna Community Foundation surprised two Niskayuna High School teachers, prize patrol-style, with the 20th annual Murray Award for Excellence in Education.
