Voting Information

The annual school budget vote and Board of Education election takes place on the third Tuesday in May each year. Voting takes place at Niskayuna High School between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Who is eligible to vote?

You must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years or older, and a district resident for at least 30 days prior to the vote. Personal identification and proof of residence may be requested.

Absentee/early mail ballot information

Absentee/early mail ballots are available at the District Office and will be issued upon request to residents who will be out of town or unable to vote at the polls due to illness or disability. Call the district clerk at (518) 377-4666, ext. 4, to obtain an absentee ballot application. Applications are due seven days prior to the vote if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter. After that date, please contact the District Clerk about absentee ballots. In order to count, completed absentee ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on the day of the vote.
