Niskayuna High School was recently ranked the third best school in the Capital Region and the 147th top high school in New York state, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best High Schools rankings.
Schools are ranked based on six categories: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performances and graduation rate.
“We are proud of the work our faculty, staff, students and community have invested to drive successful student outcomes,” said Superintendent of Schools Carl Mummenthey.
The report shows Niskayuna students were proficient in mathematics (91%), reading (94%) and science (90%). It also shows nearly all students graduate (95%) and nearly half take AP courses and exams (43%).
On top of the district’s ranking in the Capital Region, Niskayuna High School also ranked 1,508 out of 17,901 schools nationally.
