Niskayuna CSD welcomes Eric Muller as new campus safety & security coordinator

Eric Muller headshotThe Niskayuna Central School District is excited to welcome Eric Muller as the district’s new (and first) campus safety & security coordinator. Muller joins the district through a partnership with the Altaris Consulting Group, a Hudson Valley firm focused exclusively on school safety and security.

Muller is a retired law enforcement officer with an extensive background in school safety, law enforcement and military service. In his 26 years working in law enforcement, Muller spent more than six years with Shenendehowa Central School District as a school resource officer through the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and two years as a school safety liaison officer with the Mechanicville City School District.

“Through our ongoing partnership with Altaris we will continue to grow our safety and security programming,” said Superintendent of Schools Carl Mummenthey. “We are happy to welcome Eric Muller to our team and we’re looking forward to him providing best practices and advice on the way Niskayuna can maintain the safest environment possible for our school community.”

In his part-time role with our district as campus safety & security coordinator, Muller will work closely with School Resource Officer Sergeant Brandon Maura and the other members of our campus safety and security team. He will be active in all of our school buildings and many of our events after school hours.

“The children are our future so we have to encourage a safe learning environment so they can flourish in their learning skills,” said Muller. “Their number one priority should be school and academics.”

In addition to working in our district, Muller will continue working part-time with the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, the Village of Ballston Police Department and the U.S. Army National Guard.
