Monitor Sought to Help Open NHS Pool for Morning Community Use – Possibly on a Volunteer Basis

The school district continues to work toward reopening the pool at Niskayuna High School for early morning community swim hours. In order for this to happen, one important role needs to be filled: Someone to monitor the pool entrance and check swimmers in and out in the morning.

While the district has posted this as a paid position in the past, it is open to filling it on either a paid or volunteer basis. District leaders are hoping to have early morning community swim participants back in the pool as soon as possible.

Morning community swim hours are 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. from Monday through Friday. Any individual(s) interested in serving in this monitor role would need to be available during those times.

If you are interested in serving in this role, please contact Director of Health, Athletics and Physical Education Lawrence Gillooley at lgillooley@niskyschools.org or (518) 382-2511, ext. 21760.

More information about purchasing pro-rated pool passes for the 2021-22 school year will be available soon. This year’s pool fees will be the same as the 2019-20 school year, prorated. The district is looking into an online option for purchasing pool passes.
