Video game artist brings animation to life for fifth graders

Fifth grade art classes at each elementary school worked with visiting artist Josh Huber to create a stop-motion animation with the theme “Art is EPIC.”

Huber is a technical artist for video game company Blizzard Entertainment and spoke with students about his career and roles in the video game industry. “It was a great experience. I want to show kids how to take the things that they really love doing and turn them into a career,” Huber said.

Students enjoyed creating the animation through their own movements and learning how stop-motion works.  “Josh taught me how to understand animation,” said Miko, a Hillside Elementary School fifth grader.
