Registration now open for the Summer 2019 Engineering Institute for Young Women

Registration is now open for the Summer 2019 Engineering Institute for Young Women. This is a week-long camp for female students entering grades 7 through 9 who have a strong interest in science and engineering technology. It is being offered for a seventh year by the Niskayuna Central School District in partnership with GE Global Research.

This year, the Engineering Institute for Young Women will take place during the week of July 8-12 The cost is $250 per student, and registration is first come, first served. Registration will be open until Friday, Apr. 26, or until all of the 40 openings are filled. Spots could go quickly, so parents are encouraged to sign students up as soon as possible.

Registration is a two-step process. Please complete both steps as soon as possible to reserve a spot for your child:

1. Complete the online registration form.

2. Print and complete the payment form and return it to the address indicated.

Student registration is not confirmed until payment is received.

The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. Families will need to provide transportation to and from Niskayuna High School, as well as lunch.

The camp offers students a week of exploration and discovery into the “STEAM” fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. This year’s theme is “ Mission Explore.” Each of the projects will revolve around the ideas of building and programming robots designed to explore and navigate new/unusual areas.
