Each year, Niskayuna High School welcomes several international students through the International Scholars Program. Students live with a local host family, take high school classes, and learn about American life and culture by becoming members of the Niskayuna community.
For the 2025-26 school year, host families are needed for two female students from Spain. Both students are going into grade 11. The total commitment to host these students is late August 2025 through the end of June 2026.
Hosting can be a rewarding experience for both students and host families. For many, it marks the beginning of a friendship that lasts a lifetime.
To learn more about what serving as a host family involves, please contact one of the International Scholars Program coordinators below. They can answer questions, discuss the host family selection process, and connect you with previous host families to hear about their international student experiences. They can also provide additional details about the individual students in need.
