Tishawn Terry-Garcia joined our Business Office as the District Treasurer on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Terry-Garcia comes to our district from the City School District of Albany, where she has served as treasurer since 2003. She brings to Niskayuna a track record of success as the chief accountant for the district and its more than $280 million budget.
Terry-Garcia has extensive experience preparing and analyzing financial reports and records, including annual audits, implementation of improvement plans and financial forecasting. She also has been part of the business office team helping manage significant capital improvement projects. Terry-Garcia earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Sage Colleges.
Terry-Garcia is taking over the Treasurer role from Elizabeth VanAlstyne who is moving to a Senior Account Specialist role in the Business Office. We thank VanAlstyne for her work in the Treasurer’s role for these past several months.
