Dear Niskayuna Community,

Given the extreme heat indexes that are forecasted for our region on Monday, June 23, and Tuesday, June 24, our district has made the decision to have early releases these days.

The schedule will be as follows:

Monday
K-5: dismissal at 10:45 a.m.
6-8: dismissal at 12:15 p.m.

Tuesday
K-5: Half day early dismissal at 10:45 a.m. was previously planned.
6-8: dismissal at 12:15 p.m.

Please note that the Kids Time afterschool program will operate until 12:45 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday.

Regents exams will be held as scheduled and students should report to their assigned location at the assigned time. District officials will work to ensure there is a comfortable environment for students taking exams.

Staff will be working regular contractual days despite the early dismissals.

We know it is disappointing that some events will have to be rescheduled or canceled but we appreciate your flexibility as we continue to work to ensure we have a safe and comfortable environment for our students and staff. Principals and school staff will share details about events at each school.
