BOE Adopts $110.7M Budget for 24-25

At their April 16 meeting, members of the Niskayuna Central School District Board of Education unanimously adopted a $110.7 million budget for the 2024-25 school year.

The proposed budget makes $1.8 million in new educational investments in our school district.

The budget calls for a tax levy increase of 2%, which is below the district’s tax cap for next year.

These historic investment plans were guided by budget priorities that focused broadly on expanding educational access and opportunity, support for students and learning, and district operational needs, including facilities upkeep.

Investing in student, faculty and staff support in particular were major community budget priorities identified earlier this winter through an online budget dialogue on the ThoughtExchange platform.

Also on the ballot:

Board of Education Election – Two seats on the Board of Education, Three-Year Terms begin July 1, 2024

Bus Purchase Proposition – $1,766,422 for the purchase of school buses as part of the Bus Replacement Plan – includes two electrical buses partially funded through state incentive program

Proposition for New Capital Reserve 2024 – Proposition to establish a new, 10-year capital reserve (funding limit of $25 million) to offset tax impact of future capital projects
