Board of Education Policy 5711: School Bus Scheduling and Routing

Bus routes, designated stops, and schedules will be established by the Director of Transportation. These will be reviewed periodically and adjusted as shifts occur in student population or as safety necessitates.

Bus routes, designated stops, and schedules will be established in accordance with the following considerations:

a) Safety of the children;

b) Distribution of the student population by school;

c) Street conditions;

d) Economy of operation;

e) Travel time; and

f) Type and time availability of equipment.

For safety reasons, no student will be required to cross Troy Road or Union Street. No elementary student will be required to cross Balltown Road. Door-to-door service is not required.

Schedules and routes will be mailed to residents prior to the opening of school in September and/or made available in the Parent Portal. During the school year, current information about bus schedules will be available from the individual school office or from the Transportation Office.
