Nisky NOW free food program will offer meat and cheese

Nisky NOW, Inc., the Niskayuna Central School District’s weekend food program for food insecure students, is excited to announce a new initiative to expand food offerings.

Beginning September 8  free freezer foods will be available for participating families to pick up at the Nisky NOW pantry on Thursdays from 9-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. The pantry is located in the Parish House of St. Kateri Tekakwitha on Union Street.

Families supported by Nisky NOW can shop for frozen meats, cheese, vegetables, and more, after providing their confidential family ID #.

This new pick-up option for frozen foods is in addition to a family’s typical weekly Nisky NOW home food delivery of items including cereal, pasta, sauce, bread, and coupons for milk and eggs.

Families can confidentially enroll in NOW by emailing niskynow@yahoo.com to be connected to a District Social Worker.
