Board of Education Policy 3510: Emergency School Closings

The decision to close, suspend or delay the start time of school is within the discretion of the Superintendent or his/her designee.

In the event it is necessary to close school for the day, activate a delayed starting time or early dismissal (as well as information relating to cancellation of after-school activities/late bus runs), due to inclement weather, impassable roads, or other emergency reasons, announcement thereof shall be made over local radio and television stations, email and text message via the District mass notification system and the District website.

When school is closed, all related activities, including athletic events and student activities, will be cancelled for that day and evening.

The attendance of personnel shall be governed by their respective contracts.
