On Wednesday, April 23, the Niskayuna Central School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Anthony Malizia to the position of principal at Niskayuna High School. Malizia, who is currently an assistant principal at NHS, will begin his new role on July 14.
Before joining NHS in 2017, Malizia was a hall principal in Bethlehem and a business teacher in the Bethlehem, Ballston Spa, and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school districts.
“I am excited and humbled to be selected as the next principal of Niskayuna High School,” said Malizia. “I am grateful that I get to live and work in a community like Niskayuna that places such a strong value on education. I’m looking forward to leading our school community and providing each student with a welcoming environment focused on their individual needs.”
Anthony will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as a deep commitment to our staff, children and families,” said Superintendent of Schools Carl Mummenthey. “I am confident he will extend the rich legacy of strong leaders who’ve served at Niskayuna High School.”
Malizia will replace Mr. John RIckert who will be retiring as NHS principal at the end of the school year.
