Our community approved two capital projects in 2021 and 2024, providing major renovations and classroom additions at both Iroquois and Van Antwerp. The work supports the district’s vision for a high-quality middle school experience and is an important part of the overall capital improvement plan.
Construction at Iroquois was completed and the building was rededicated in November 2025. The renovation of Iroquois includes an expanded campus, 20 new classrooms and upgraded instructional spaces. Renovations at Van Antwerp began in 2025, and will include new classrooms, a library media center, music ensemble spaces and a renovated kitchen and cafeteria.
Van Antwerp will be open for all students in grades 5 and 6 beginning in fall 2027.
Library

The new Van Antwerp library media center will be spacious, airy and inviting, and includes a full-size classroom, a reading corner and reading nooks, and has a better layout.
Classroom Updates
Refreshed learning spaces await our VA students throughout the building, including new paint, flooring and casework.

Cafeteria

A larger, more open cafeteria is being constructed. It will include windows and more natural light, as well as improved accessibility and a new kitchen and serving line. The new space is flexible and can be used for gathering purposes as well.
Music Ensemble Spaces
Our students will have access to a music suite for both ensemble rehearsal and individual/small group practice.
