Preschool Programs
Niskayuna Central School District wants to help preschoolers discover the joy of learning at an early age, which is why Niskayuna schools offer a variety of preschool programs.

Standards Based Report Card
Elementary teachers and administrators worked together over three years to develop an updated report card for K-5 that better communicates what students are expected to know and be able to do based on current New York State standards. The report card is designed to help families reflect on the teaching and learning happening inside classrooms. It focuses on showing growth towards the end-of-year grade-level skills and knowledge.
Behavioral information (called Work Habits and Social Growth) are reported separately and based on the Collaborative for Academic and Social Emotional Learning (CASEL) Framework and Responsive Classroom.

i-Ready Inform
i-Ready Inform (formerly the i-Ready Diagnostic) is a non-graded, adaptive assessment taken a few times a year. It’s a check-up that helps teachers personalize instruction, provide interventions or offer enrichment.

International Scholars Program
The International Scholars Program is an opportunity for high-achieving students who wish to experience an authentic American way of life in a safe and welcoming community, as well as receive a high-quality education.
Niskayuna Central School District invites English language-proficient international students (including current exchange students) who are between 15 and 18 years of age to apply for participation in the International Scholars Program. Participants will learn about American life and culture first-hand, reside in the local community with a host family, and attend Niskayuna High School.

PowerSchool Parent Portal
Parents or guardians can log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal to see all of their children’s information in one place. This includes grades, assignments, scores, attendance and schedules.
Reimagining Middle Level Education
At Niskayuna, we are reimagining middle school education by shifting toward a more dynamic, team-based, and collaborative learning model. To fully support this vision, we are reconfiguring our grade levels to house grades 5–6 at Van Antwerp and grades 7–8 at Iroquois. This thoughtful restructuring allows us to tailor our spaces and teaching styles to specific developmental stages, ultimately providing our district’s students with future-ready learning environments.
