Voice of Democracy Patriotic Audio Essay Competition sponsored by VFW Post #357 offers a grand prize of $35,000.
The state level winner receives between $500 and $2,500.
The competition is open to students in grades 9-12. To enter, students must write an original essay on this year’s theme, “What a Veteran Taught Me About America.” You’re also asked to record your essay in MP3 format on a flash drive or other electronic device. The recording must be three to five minutes in duration.
