The high school counseling program is committed to assisting students and families with the transition from middle to high school, as well as from high school to post-secondary education.
Through comprehensive and informative programs, large group activities and information sessions, and individual and family sessions, the high school counseling center provides support to students and families on an individual basis and looks to establish and create meaningful and positive relationships with the students and larger community.

Students who have not been recommended by the teacher or department for an Honors or AP course they wish to take may seek to enroll in the course.
What You Need to Know About Your Transcript
You will be asked to review your transcript during your junior year and again at the start of your senior year.
This review helps to ensure that nothing has been omitted (e.g. Regents Exam re-take score) and that any corrections have been updated (e.g. when a teacher changes a grade).
If you need to submit corrections, please use the Transcript Information form in the Counseling Center.
Need a transcript?
Graduates of Niskayuna High School who wish to obtain copies of their transcripts have two options:
- For a fee, official transcripts can be requested and delivered electronically anywhere in the world electronically through Parchment.com. This service is for ALUMNI only.
- If you are an alumni who wishes to receive a free copy of your official transcript, please contact NiskayunaHSrecords@niskyschools.org. Please allow 1-2 business days for processing. Transcripts will arrive via regular mail.

Scholarships
Students can access information about all of the scholarship opportunities that are currently available. Scholarships are categorized by the month in which the application deadline is due. Students should contact Mr. Bianchi for more information.
Naviance
The high school counseling department has implemented the use of Naviance, a post-secondary planning tool. Naviance allows all NHS students to engage in vocational inventories, resume building, college research, and submission and organization of post high school materials.
Working Papers
Students may obtain their 14-15 year old or 16-17 year old working papers in the Nurse’s Office. A parent completed application is required and students must have a valid physical dated within one year of the application. This must be done before the end of the school year.
Please see your school nurse to get an Application for Employment Certificate or access the state’s Application for Employment Certificate here. Working papers may be obtained in the main office during July and August.
