Student-athletes break five school records at national track meet

Spiers, Girls 4 x mile and Distance Medley Relay earn All-American honors

Members of the Niskayuna boys and girls track teams broke a combined five school records at the New Balance Nationals meet in Greensboro, South Carolina over the weekend. The records were broken by two individuals and three relay teams. Below is a list of the results. Congratulations to all!

Girls 5,000 meters: Abigail Spiers, 2nd place, All-American, school record, 16:59.89

Girls 2,000 steeplechase: Maddy Hesler, 23rd, 7:18.33

Boys 2,000 steeplechase: Marty Dolan, 16th, school record, 6:10.17

Girls Sprint Medley Relay: Zoe Harris, Marissa Wise, Megan Daviero, Amelia Kokernak, 17th, 4:07.67 (Second fastest in school history)

Girls 4 x mile: Maddy Hesler, Liyat Kebbede, Amelia Kokernak, Abigail Spiers, 2nd place, All-Americans, school record, 20:47.05

Boys 4 x mile: Colin Ross, Tom Ragone, Dominick Favata, Donnovan Tucker, 17th place, school record, 18:08.77

Girls Distance Medley Relay: Amelia Koernak, Megan Daviero, Sydney Smith, Abigail Spiers, 4th place, All-Americans, school record, 11:54.34
