Have you been thinking of what to do with that gently worn party dress or prom gown that has been hanging in your closet for a while?
Well, we have a solution! Niskayuna High School students are partnering with IHeart Radio 99.5, The River in promoting their “Pay Less For The Dress” program.
For the past number of years, the radio station has invited local high school students to help it collect gently worn prom gowns and party dresses. The dresses will then be cleaned and presented for sale for just $9.95 each at a Capital Region Wide event held at Proctors Theater on March 21st.
On Wednesday, February 5th, Radio 99.5 will broadcast its Morning Show live from Niskayuna High. During that broadcast, community members can stop by the Pool Entrance to the high school to drop off their dresses. Students will be available to greet you at your car and collect your donation. The program is broadcast from 5:30 am to 10:00 am.
Niskayuna High’s Pep Club and National Honor Society members are coordinating the collection of these gowns from now until February 5th. They encourage all parents, staff, and community members to bring in dresses to the high school at your convenience, and they will receive them at the West Entrance Lobby or Main Office Desk through February 5th. We would very much like to have an extensive collection of dresses to present to the radio personalities on air on February 5th. Proceeds from the event will support the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center and the Proctors Scholarship Fund.
