Niskayuna High School seeking nominations for Hall of Fame

Niskayuna High School is now accepting nominations for the Hall of Fame, a gallery of Niskayuna High School graduates who have made significant contributions to their professions or communities.

The Niskayuna High School Hall of Fame was instituted as part of the school’s 25th anniversary in 1983. It honors graduates who have distinguished themselves in a specific field of endeavor, in civic affairs, humanitarian affairs, or other areas deemed to merit special recognition.

“It is our hope that today’s students see in these inductees, people worthy of emulation,” High School Principal John Rickert said. “We believe the Hall of Fame program contributes to our positive school climate, and brings our community together in sharing the successes of our native sons and daughters.”

A committee of citizens, students, faculty and administrators will select the 2019 inductee from nominations submitted by members of the public. To be eligible for consideration to the Hall of Fame, one must have been a graduate of Niskayuna High School.

Nominating forms are available in the Niskayuna High School Office and the Town Supervisor’s Office at Town Hall.

Completed forms must be returned no later than Thursday, January 31, 2019 to:

John W. Rickert, Principal
Niskayuna High School
1626 Balltown Road
Niskayuna, NY 12309

A formal induction into the Hall of Fame will take place at the high school commencement exercises on Thursday, June 27 at Proctor’s Theater. A plaque, with an etched photograph of the Hall of Fame inductee and a brief biographical description, will be permanently housed on the Hall of Fame wall at the main entrance area of Niskayuna High School.
