Niskayuna High School inducted five alumni to its Hall of Fame on June 9 during a recognition ceremony in the high school auditorium. Since 1983, Niskayuna High School has inducted 73 distinguished graduates who have made exceptional contributions in their respective fields.
This year’s inductees are:
Dominic Fallacaro is a Grammy Award-winning producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. In 2015, he won the Grammy Award for producing the “Best Children’s Album.” He also received an Emmy nomination for his composition in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
Dr. John Hartwig is a current professor of Chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley. He is the recipient of the Wolf Prize and Willard Gibbs Award, two of the most prestigious awards given in the field of chemistry. He also helped develop the Buchward-Hartwig Amination, a chemical reaction used in organic chemistry.
Peter L. Haviland is one of the most accomplished civil trial attorneys in the country. He has practiced law for over 30 years in Los Angeles, California and has been recognized as one of “America’s Most Influential Attorneys,” and “Top 100 black lawyers.” He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and a former law clerk to the United States Ninth District Court of Appeals.
Tini Sevak is the current Vice-President of Audiences and Data at CNN International. Based in London, Sevak travels all over the world representing CNN International Commerical’s market-leading position around data and audience capabilities. She is a graduate of Boston University’s Questrom School of Management and holds a Master’s Degree from the University at Albany.
Greg Weaver is the Principal Policy and Strategy Advisor to the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff for Nuclear and Missile Defense. He was awarded the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Civilian Service, the highest civilian award in the Pentagon. He has served under Presidents Obama, Trump, and Biden.
