Do you have a dress or a prom gown that has been hanging in your closet for a while? Well, we know where you can donate it for a good cause!
This year, Niskayuna High School students are partnering with 99.5 The River for their “Pay Less For The Dress” campaign. Every year, the radio station invites local high school students to help collect gently worn gowns and dresses to be cleaned and sold for $9.99 each at a local event. This year’s event will be held at Proctors Theatre on Friday, March 22. All proceeds support the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center and the Proctors Scholarship Fund.
On Wednesday, Feb. 6, the radio station will broadcast their morning show live from Niskayuna High. During the broadcast, from 5:30-10 a.m., community members can stop by the pool entrance to drop off their dresses. Students will be available to greet you at your car and collect your donation.
However, you can donate the dresses now if you’d like! Pep Club and National Honor Society members are collecting dresses at the school until Feb. 6. Donations can be brought to the west entrance lobby and/or the main office desk. Thank you for your support!
