Member of NHS Community Tests Positive for COVID-19 (Nov. 30)

The district has learned that a member of the Niskayuna High School community tested positive for COVID-19. However, based on the date this individual was last at school, there is no need for contact tracing through the school and no one needs to quarantine based on potential exposure in the school/work setting. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict the district from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information and we cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

All Niskayuna schools remain open for in-person learning, and our overarching goal is for this to continue. We again remind you that we are following all of the necessary health and safety precautions outlined in our reopening plan, including mask-wearing, social distancing and enhanced cleaning and disinfecting. We will continue to work in close partnership with our public health partners.

Please help limit the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and adhering to guidelines related to gatherings. We are all in this together and we are grateful for your partnership in promoting health and safety in our schools and community.
