Hillside Pick Up Plan for Student Belongings

Dear Hillside Families,

We hope this letter finds you and your family well. Thank you for all you have been doing to support your child while we continue with our online learning. We appreciate your extra efforts as we work together to keep growing and learning.

We have created a plan for you to pick up your child’s belongings from school. These include protocols for social distancing. We have planned for the pick-up of student belongings and the drop off of school materials next week, June 1 and June 2, 2020. All items belonging to your child will be gathered together by your child’s teacher and placed in a plastic bag.

Please come to the school parking lot and drive to the end of one of two lanes, either the school bus loop for the morning drop off zone. Please see this link for a diagram: diagram of student belongings zone​.

Parents should plan to come on their assigned day and time (see schedule below) and staff will greet you at your car and deliver your child’s belongings to you. It will be essential that you follow the protocols below on the day of your visit.

Procedures and Protocols to follow:

  • Stay Home if you or someone in your household has tested positive for, or has symptoms of COVID-19 and/or is feeling unwell.
  • Please follow the direction of the school staff as they direct you to a pick up location.
  • Remain in your vehicle so that the appropriate social distancing can be maintained.
  • Please wear a mask.
  • A staff member will ask you for your child’s name, grade and teacher.
  • Your child’s belongings will be brought to your car and placed in your trunk or back seat.
  • For families with multiple children, you will pick up all students’ belongings in one visit.
  • A bin will be present for you to return your child’s library books.
  • If your child has a school instrument that needs to be returned, please plan to do so on this day.
  • If you need to retrieve your child’s medication from the school nurse, please email her directly at kcutting@niskyschools.org.
  • If you borrowed a district Chromebook, please do not return it at this time. It will be returned at a later date.
