Dear Student and Families,
We are continuing to work on our plans for reopening school in September, and although we are uncertain about whether we will offer virtual or in person instruction or a combination of the two, the scheduling process for the 2020-2021 has been progressing. We have reached a key point in the process and want to share some important information with you. In the coming days and weeks, students will be notified by email of any potential conflicts in their schedule and be contacted by their counselor to resolve any such conflict. It is important for students to check their school email accounts regularly over the next couple of weeks to receive communications from their counselor.
The master schedule is created after a review of student requests and our ability to staff the wide range of classes supported by the budget. In some cases we cannot offer all courses to meet student interest due to either low enrollment or staffing constraints. At this link, you will find a list of courses that may require a wait list moving forward in the scheduling process. These courses will be offered in the 2020-2021 school year; however, based on original student requests they are currently at capacity. Any student wishing to add one of these courses from this point forward will be placed on the wait list. The counseling department will refer to the wait list as spots become available in those particular courses.
Along with the courses that may require a wait list, you will also see a list of courses with insufficient enrollment. These courses will not be offered during the 2020-2021 school year. Counselors will work with students who had requested these courses to select another class that is available.
Counselors will be working with students to finalize scheduled courses for the 2020-2021 school year. All schedule changes for the 2020-2021 school year must be made by August 5, 2020.
Schedules, including teachers, will be available in late August on the parent portal. We will send more information out about the plan for reopening our schools as soon as it is available.
Please contact your student’s counselor by email with any questions or concerns you have regarding your child’s course selection.
Thank you for your continued support during this important process.
