Head lifeguard and morning receptionist sought for high school pool

The district continues to seek a head lifeguard and early morning receptionist to enable community access to the Niskayuna High School pool to be restored. As soon as these positions are filled, the pool will be re-opened for pool pass holders.

The positions are part of the plan to address the supervision, scheduling and communication issues raised last year. Increased lifeguard staffing recently allowed the pool to re-open for the Starfish Swim Club, and the next step is restoring public access as soon as possible.

The positions that need to be filled are:

  • Head lifeguard – This is a 20-hour per week position covering the early morning swim hours. Additional responsibilities include supervising and scheduling lifeguards, maintaining pool records and initiating communication with users as needed.
  • Early morning receptionist – This position is Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Duties generally involve checking in pool users and providing general supervision in the main entryway by the Athletic Office/pool area.

If you or someone you know is interested in these positions, please contact the district Human Resources Department at (518) 377-4666, ext. 50740 or humanresources@niskyschools.org.
