District and NCAP to host K-12 parenting workshop “Keeping the Tech in Check at Home”

On Monday, November 5, Niskayuna Central School District is partnering with the Niskayuna Community Action Program (N-CAP) to host a K-12 parenting workshop, “Keeping the Tech in Check at Home.”

The workshop, hosted by Tonya Maxstadt from The Collaborative Classroom, will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Niskayuna High School Little Theater.

One of the biggest challenges of parenting today is trying to figure out how to moderate our kids’ use of technology. It can be a daily struggle over how much time is spent on phones, computers, and video games. As parents, we know too much technology is detrimental, but how much is too much? You may be asking yourself, “What are the harmful effects of technology? How do I limit my child’s tech when it is all they want to do?”

This workshop will answer all of these questions, and any others that you may have about keeping tech in check at home.
This is the first in a series of three workshops the district will be holding this year.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP here.
