Board of Education Policy 4220: Pilot Projects

Pilot projects may be used to introduce new instructional programs, materials or equipment on a trial basis. Proposals for pilot projects should include a statement of project goals, anticipated expenses, staffing positions, a synopsis of implementation strategies, and plans for evaluation of the project.

Proposals should be submitted to the supervisor and the Building Principal and then forwarded to the Superintendent of Schools for administrative review. Proposals recommended by the Superintendent should be submitted to the Board for approval prior to implementation. The Superintendent shall submit periodic reports to the Board on all ongoing projects and evaluations. The Board may, after evaluation and consultation with pilot project developers, terminate a pilot program at any time.
