Board of Education adopts 2020-21 school calendar

On Feb. 10, the Board of Education adopted the school calendar for the 2020-21 school year. This is the calendar that includes the first and last days of school and holidays and recesses. Still to be determined are the dates for parent-teacher conferences in November and March.

  • July 3 – Offices Closed
  • August 13-14 – Regents Testing
  • September 1 – All District Staff and Faculty Welcome Back
  • September 2 – Superintendent’s Conference Day
  • September 3 – Teacher Work Day
  • September 7 – Labor Day
  • September 8 – Classes Begin 1-8, K & 9th Grade Orientation
  • September 9 – High School Classes Begin
  • September 9 – First Full Day Kindergarten
  • September 19 – Rosh Hashanah
  • September 28 – Yom Kippur – No Classes – Offices Closed
  • October 8 – Emergency Early Release Day Drill
  • October 12 – Columbus Day – No Classes – Offices Closed
  • November 3 – Election Day – Superintendent’s Conference Day – No Classes
  • November 11 – Veterans Day – No Classes – Offices Closed
  • November 25-27 – Thanksgiving Holiday – Offices Closed
  • December 24 – 25 – Christmas Observance – Offices Closed
  • December 28-31 – Holiday Recess – Offices Open
  • January 1 – New Year’s Day – Offices Closed
  • January 4 – Classes Resume
  • January 18 – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day- No Classes – Offices Closed
  • January 26-29 – Regents Testing
  • January Date TBD – No Classes at High School – 8th Grade Orientation

  • February 15 – President’s Day – No Classes – Offices Closed
  • February 16-19 – Winter Recess – Offices Open

  • May 31 – Memorial Day – No Classes – Offices Closed
  • June 15 – Last Regularly Scheduled Day at High School
  • June 16-24 – Regents Testing (Unconfirmed)
  • June 22 – Student Half Day for K-5
  • June 23 – Last Student Day for K-8 (Half Day for K-5)
  • June 24 – Graduation
  • June 25 – Regents Rating Day/K-8 Staff Day

    Early Dismissal Times

    • K-5 Conference Day- 11 a.m.
    • K-6 Conference Day – Elementary dismisses at 11 a.m., Grade 6 at 11:45 a.m.
    • Grade 6 Only Conference Day – Dismissal at 11:45 a.m.
    • K-8 Conference Day Elementary dismisses at 11 a.m./MS at 12:45 p.m.
