Arrival and Dismissal Times Established for the Start of the School Year

Based on our transportation schedule planning, we have finalized the start and end times by level for the start of the school year. Please see below. Although we had hoped to keep the start and end times as close to their current times as possible, adjustments were needed as we analyzed our transportation schedules following the Aug. 24 deadline for in-person and remote attendance plans.

The arrival and dismissal times indicated below take into account the time needed to ensure physical distancing as students get on and off the bus.

Elementary Schools – Grades K-4
Arrival: 7:45 a.m.
Dismissal: 1:15 p.m.

Middle Schools – Grades 5-8
Arrival: 9:45 a.m.
Dismissal: 3:05 p.m.

High School
Arrival: 8:30 a.m.
Dismissal: 2:15 p.m.

We recognize that these times may represent a significant change from what you may have been planning for and that it represents a shorter instructional day than usual. However, we have prioritized in-person instruction at all levels for the start of the school year. This is our best effort to address the complexities of making the schedule work and taking all of the appropriate safety precautions.

We know that transportation delays are a normal part of the beginning of the school year and we can expect this year to be no different. We will be monitoring how the schedule is working, but we know we need to give it some time. Please plan to have your child at the bus stop 10 minutes earlier than their scheduled time and allow for the potential that buses may not be on schedule at the end of the day.
