All Families Asked to Complete Returning Student Registration Process by July 31; Contains Reopening Questions

All families of students entering grades K-12 this year are urged to complete the Returning Student Registration process by Friday, July 31. This process asks families to complete a secure, online form that asks for accurate family contact information and student medical information, and also contains questions related to reopening schools.

In light of COVID-19, school reopening planning, and the need to have accurate information for all students, this process has taken on even greater urgency this year.

How do I complete the process?

To complete this secure process, visit the Niskayuna PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal login page at https://powerschool.niskyschools.org/ and sign into your account. From there, select the student you wish to register, and click on the Returning Student Enrollment link on the left side of the page.

What do I do if I need help?

What if I don’t have a Parent Portal account?

If you do not have a Parent Portal account, a letter is being mailed to you with the information needed to create an account.

How does this relate to reopening?

It is critical that we have accurate family contact information and student medical information in all scenarios. There are also a series of questions related directly to reopening, including your family’s attendance plans and transportation, as well as Internet access.

Of note, the first question asks if you will send your child to school if on-site learning is allowed by the state and safety precautions are in place. This is a required Yes/No question, but it is NOT binding. We understand that some people may be unsure. Please indicate the answer that you are leaning toward at the time you answer it. This information is critical as we finalize our Reopening Plans for the start of school. While answers may prompt some follow-up communication, you will not be held to how you answer this form alone.

In a time of so much uncertainty, we are planning for the best possible school year with health and safety as our top priority. The Returning Student Registration process is a critical part of this and we thank you for completing this by July 31.
