Van Antwerp hosts No Place for Hate workshop

Approximately 20 Van Antwerp students stand in a circle in a classroom as part of the workshop.

On Friday, Feb. 10, Van Antwerp hosted a diversity dance. The event included four workshops aimed at discussing shared values related to diversity and multiculturalism. The workshops were facilitated by counselors, teachers and student leaders participating in Study Circles (Schenectady County Respects Diversity). The evening was capped off with food, snacks and a dance.

This event is in keeping with ongoing work Van Antwerp is doing with the Anti-Defamation League to be designated a No Place For Hate school and with the important goal of making VA the most inclusive, cohesive school community possible. Students did great work and really enjoyed the evening.
