It was all part of a unit on civic responsibility. The class did a year-long community engagement activity where the students identified issues in their community and worked on projects to deal with those issues. The students who organized the fun run researched the issue of poverty.

In order to take part in the Fun Run on Thursday, May 31, students had to donate a pair of new or gently used shoes.  30 students participated and 67 pairs of shoes will be donated to Schenectady City Mission to help those in need.
