Two Niskayuna HS filmmakers receive top honors at Binghamton Film Festival

Niskayuna High School filmmakers Alta Fox and Metin Ozisik won top honors for their short films at the Rod Serling Film Festival held at the Forum Theater in Binghamton, N.Y., Nov. 6.
Fox, a senior at NHS, received the award for Best Fiction/Story for her dramatic short film "Long Distance," a story of a young couple's relationship that has endured and been strengthened by the barriers of distance.
Ozisik, a 2015 Niskayuna graduate, is a freshman at the School of Media Arts and Studies at Ohio University. He received the Best Documentary award for his short film "Grand Bazaar," which was filmed in Turkey and looks at the largest covered shopping center and most visited tourist attraction in the world. He completed his winning film while attending Niskayuna High School.
