An Update on School Transportation

September 1, 2015

As the year begins, it's not uncommon for the Transportation Department to have issues to work through, whether it's the time that the bus arrives or the location of a stop. We understand that some parents have questions at this time, and want to assure families that our Transportation Department is working to address all of the issues that have been brought to its attention. We also understand that families have had difficulty reaching the Transportation Department.  We apologize for this inconvenience, and want to assure parents that all messages left are being received and issues are being followed up on one-by-one.

If you have a question, please call the Transportation Department at 370-0160. We will continue to work through all of them until they are addressed. Like any other year, we expect things to go smoother over the course of this week and next as issues are resolved. We appreciate your patience.

This year, our school district brought back its bus drivers after working with an outside contractor. We were pleased to welcome back many drivers who had previously worked for us and their new colleagues. In addition, we have established a new front office, including dispatching and secretarial support. Unlike the latter part of last year, we had a full staff of bus drivers and monitors today as we started the year. We have already started making plans to establish routes and communicate them to parents earlier next year.

We value our Transportation Department and look forward to returning to a level of service that our community and students deserve.
