Nominating petitions are currently available for individuals interested
in serving on the Board of Education. Three seats will be up for election on
May 17 this year, the same day as the school budget vote.
Those interested in running for this important role in our community can pick up a petition between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. from the district clerk at the District Offices, 1239 Van Antwerp Road. In order for a candidate to appear on the ballot, they must return their petition with the signatures of 60 qualified district voters by 5 p.m. on April 18. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, qualified voters in the school district, and have resided in the district continuously for at least one year before the election. For more detail about Board membership, please see the document, "An Overview of Serving as a Board of Education Member," published annually by the district.
Board members are volunteers and serve three-year terms. The terms of the Board members elected this year will begin on July 1 of this year and expire on June 30, 2019.
