Looking ahead...District planning a four-week summer enrichment program, July 6-31

Despite the frigid air and banks of snow, the district knows that many parents are already making summer plans for their children. We are pleased to let parents know that we are again planning to offer a Summer Enrichment Program, with opportunities for students K-12. This program will build on what was learned through last year's first-time enrichment program as well as feedback that parents are providing through an online survey that is currently open.

The courses will be in-depth explorations in areas such as engineering and technology, the arts, health/fitness, English and math, and those that combine various disciplines. Courses are meant to allow students to explore an interest or a passion or build upon what they learn during school in a way that is new and fun.

We plan to offer courses over four, one-week sessions. Sessions will begin each Monday in July – the 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th. Classes will either be offered in the morning or afternoon. Based in part on parent feedback, the district is targeting a cost of $150 per class this year.

The Summer Enrichment Program, with course descriptions, scheduling details, and registration information, will be distributed during the second week of March. Please look for it!

Finally, thanks to the 300-and-counting parents who have completed the online survey. The feedback has been invaluable as we plan for a successful program this summer. There's still time to take the survey, it will be available through Friday, February 13, at
