VA SeaPerch head to national round of underwater robotics competition

Following two rounds of regional Sea Perch underwater robotics competitions, one of the Van Antwerp teams is headed to nationals later this month and three others were among the top finishers at the Ballston Spa competition.

Team Aquatix will compete in the national competition at UMASS Dartmouth on May 29-30. The team consists of Arelson Rapisura, Muhammad Tassaddaq, and Braden Jung, all 8th graders at VA.

Other SeaPerch teams from Van Antwerp had strong showings in both the finesse and obstacle courses during the first round of regionals at Ballston Spa on May 5. The teams, members, and results are listed below, along with some photos.

The SeaPerch club is a partnership with KAPL. Van Antwerp teachers Christine Tylock, Karen Postlethwait, Tom Blechinger, and Mike Petrone are involved.
