Nominating petitions are currently available for individuals interested
in serving on the Board of Education. Two seats will be up for election on
May 19 this year, the same day as the school budget vote.
Those interested in running for this important role in our community can pick up a petition between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. from the district clerk at the District Offices, 1239 Van Antwerp Road. In order for a candidate to appear on the ballot, they must return their petition with the signatures of 77 qualified district voters by 4 p.m. on April 20.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, qualified voters in the school district, and have resided in the district continuously for at least one year before the election. The district clerk can be reached by phone at (518) 377-4666, ext. 50712.
Board members serve volunteer, three-year terms. The terms of the Board members elected this year will begin on July 1 of this year and expire on June 30, 2018.
For more information about the qualifications and the role of Board see the document, "An Overview of Serving as a Board of Education Member," published annually by the district.
