Niskayuna students in grades 3-6 and their parents can sign-up now to
attend RPI's annual Exploring Engineering Day to be held on Saturday,
February 15. The half-day, hands-on program is free.
It is held each year to celebrate National Engineers Week, and is intended to help young students better understand what engineering is and what engineers do. The event has been taking place for 15 years, and many Niskayuna students have joined the fun in the past.
Registration for the Exploring Engineering Day is handled on a first-come, first-served basis through an online registration form located at http://swe.union.rpi.edu/EED. Reserve a spot for you and your child today - registration will close on January 17 or earlier if the program fills.
At the event, following a short introduction, parents will attend a 30-minute panel to learn tips for motivating their children's interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) while their children attend a 30-minute hands-on workshop. Parents will then join their children for the last 3 hands-on workshops.
This letter contains important details about the program, including a schedule and other logistics.
The snow date for the program is Saturday, February 22.
