Timeline for Planning
January 2006 --
The Program of Studies is distributed in
homerooms. Students are to start their course
selection planning with their parent during this
period.
January 25
-- 8th grade parent meeting with school
counselors.
February 9
-- 8th grade parent meeting with department
directors.
January
17-March 10 (HS) and
January 30-March 10 (MS) -- Students
will be scheduled to meet with their counselors,
review their teachers' recommendations and make
their course selections.
April 3 --
Program selections are mailed home for parental
review and discussion.
April 10-May 12
-- Students will be informed of schedule
conflicts, and meet with counselors and
department directors to resolve those conflicts.
July 5 -- List
of students' courses for 2006-07 are mailed home
with report cards.
July
6-August 25 -- Students may make
course changes with parental approval.
First Day of School
-- Students receive schedules in homeroom.
Additional Info.
-- Students should be aware that, except
under the most compelling of circumstances, they
will not be permitted to drop courses until they
have completed the fifth week in the course.
This applies to both first and second semester
courses and full-year courses. Students may add
a course to an existing free period during the
first seven school days.
