Congratulations Van Antwerp
Middle School for collecting 1,800 cans of green beans -- Above, sixth-grade students from Mr. Nevulis' class pose by the cans collected
for the Equinox Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. The school collects beans for the
event every year.
Pertussis (whooping cough) update
On October 17 the district sent a letter to every
family regarding confirmed cases of pertussis in the high school. (Read that letter.)
The Schenectady County Public Health Department has noted an
increase of cases throughout Schenectady County. Please be aware of
any persistent cough your child may be experiencing. Contact your
physician or the County Health Department at 382-2824 if the cough
persists more than two weeks. Contact your school nurse or the
County Health Department with any questions. A fact sheet about pertussis
is also available on this site.
Calling all alumni -- The Class of 1993 and
Class of 1988 are planning class reunions for November 28. Check out the class reunion page for more

Note Craig Sport Sale date change:
The Craig Sport Sale originally scheduled for
November 15 has been moved -- the sale will now be held on November 22 (with setup on November 21).
Note: District calendar correction
The Elementary Conference Day listed for November
19 on the district calendar should say 11:30 a.m. dismissal for grades 1-5. The
other conference dates are correct.
Note: Financial Aid Night moved to November
12
The high school's Financial Aid Night has moved
to Wednesday, November 12 at 7 p.m. in the Little Theater (the event was originally
scheduled for November 13).

pool, including hours, fees and policies, are all available
on this site.
"Lights On" fundraiser for AFS Club
Residents are encouraged to leave their porch or
exterior house lights on November 3-7 if they wish to donate to the high school's
AFS Club. Details ... [this link is no longer current and has

Go Home Drill scheduled for November 7
Please note that all schools will be dismissed 15
minutes early on Friday, November 7 as part of the district's annual Go Home Drill.
The drill allows the district an opportunity to test its emergency preparedness plan.
