Niskayuna High School teacher, students recognized
by Schenectady Branches of the Capital District YMCA

Congratulations to Niskayuna High
School Teacher Lonnie Wilson (center) and students (from left)
Matt Larkin, Jim Kelley, Evan Fenaroli, Matt Eisenstein and
Aaron Mednick. All were recognized recently for being nominees
for the YMCA's Outstanding Youth or Outstanding Educator award.
Lonnie also won the Outstanding Educator Award for her
dedication to students, leadership and impact on the community
-- congratulations!

Report Card available
The 19-page District Report Card, a compilation
of test statistics from the past five years, is now available. Copies will soon be
distributed to all schools, or you can download it here as a
PDF document. (Adobe Acrobat Reader is
required to view PDF documents, and can be downloaded for free form the Adobe Acrobat Web
site).
Middle School Health
Education Review Night rescheduled for Wednesday, March 17
This event for middle school parents (previously
canceled due to bad weather) will be March 17 at the Van Antwerp Middle School auditorium.
The sixth-grade video will be shown at 7 p.m.; the grade 6-8 program review will begin at
8 p.m. Questions? Call Health Education Director Bob Winchester at (518) 382-2538.
D.A.R.E. 8th grade
Swim/Pizza Party scheduled for Friday, March 12
All Niskayuna 8th graders are invited to this
free D.A.R.E. event at the Niskayuna High School pool. From 5-6:30 p.m. will be swimming
and games, then from 6:30-7:30 p.m. will be a pizza party.
Alumni Art Invitational

Time is running out! The Alumni Art Invitational at the Nisk-Art Gallery, featuring work
of alumni artists (including Class of 1987 grad David Opdyke, above) and the 50th
Anniversary Artifact Exhibition closes March 11. Details
