Niskayuna celebrates learning Tuesday, May 18

On Tuesday, May 18 everyone is invited to witness Niskayuna school district learning firsthand at the Celebration of Learning.
Above, some of the artwork on Hillside's giant 70-foot mural, "Spiral On," which will be on display at the Celebration of Learning.

From 4:15-8:15 p.m. at Niskayuna High School, students and staff will perform and display a variety of work from this school year. Performances will include music by Iroquois Middle School's fiddlers and scenes from "Romeo and Juliet" by Van Antwerp Middle School students. Hillside Elementary School will display its 70-foot student-created mural and timeline called "Spiral On," while Niskayuna High School students will coordinate an on-line auction, to name just a few of the 44 projects that will be part of the event.

Schools will present at the times listed below:

4:15-5 p.m. -- Birchwood and Rosendale elementary schools

5-5:45 p.m. -- Glencliff Elementary School and Iroquois Middle School

5:45-6:30 p.m. -- Craig and Hillside elementary schools

6:30-7:15 p.m. -- Van Antwerp Middle School

7-8:15 p.m. -- Niskayuna High School

"Some truly amazing work will be on display," said Superintendent Kevin Baughman. "We encourage the entire community to attend and celebrate what students have accomplished this school year."
