District requests waiver for breakfast program
The Niskayuna Central School District has
requested a waiver from the New York State
Department of Education for the state-mandated
breakfast program for children in grades K-6.
The request for a
waiver from the breakfast program is based on a
survey of parents of elementary students in the
district. Response to the survey was greater
than 33 percent at each school. Of those
responding, 80 percent said their children would
not participate in a breakfast program.
New York State
requires school districts to conduct an annual
parent survey to determine interest in a
breakfast program in their schools.
Any comments or
questions should be directed to Assistant
Superintendent for Business Matt Bourgeois, 1239
Van Antwerp Road, Niskayuna, or by calling
