Rosendale students' story becomes ballet at Proctor's Theater

Above, Northeast Ballet Company Director Darlene Myers helps a Rosendale third-grader in
Diane Schermerhorn's class have perfect posture while practicing ballet. The class was
selected to write a story that would be performed as a ballet at Proctor's Theater on
March 29. (The third-graders' story, "Allie's Big Day," was the end result of an
extensive writing process.) As part of the program, Rosendale was also chosen for a
week-long arts residency by the company, at which students learned about ballet, stage
lighting and stage directions. Rosendale was one of only four schools in the Capital
Region chosen for the program. Great job students!
