Rutnik’s prior administrative experience includes six years at the Capital Region BOCES as a supervisor and principal responsible for overseeing nearly 20 special education programs and 120 special educators and support staff. She also worked in the Cairo-Durham Central School District as a special education teacher, where she co-chaired the grades K-6 Committee on Special Education. Rutnik initially began her career at the Parsons Children Center in Albany as a child-care worker, teaching assistant and special educator for five years.

“Lynne is a proven leader in the area of special education and comes to our district with a wealth of experience and accomplishment,” said Superintendent of Schools Kevin Baughman. “Her knowledge, energetic leadership style and commitment to children and families will only strengthen our program and make a positive difference for our students with special needs.”

Rutnik completed her baccalaureate degree in psychology at the State University of Plattsburgh and her Master of Science in Special Education from The College of Saint Rose. She earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the University at Albany, and holds permanent certification in special education and educational administration.
