Emotional Development in Middle School
In June of 2012, the Board of Education began charting a course for
the future of the district’s middle school
program with the first in a series of
conversations on topics of focus.
The “Middle School Visioning” process will take
place at the start of most of the Board’s
regularly scheduled meetings through November 6.
The start time of the Board meetings will be
moved up to 6:30 p.m. to accommodate the
conversations, which will always be the first
item on the agenda.
The visioning process stems from the Middle
School Review report delivered in December 2011
by outside educational consultants who spent a
year studying all aspects of the district’s
middle school program. The report contained a
variety of short-term and long-term
recommendations for improvement. The
recommendations have been grouped into six
topics/areas, each of which will be the focus of
a designated Board visioning meeting.
